New Car Audio System For Ford From Microsoft

The world of car audio has always been based around what comes with your car when you buy it. There are those that offer an auxiliary jack for this and that device, the ‘this and that’, by the way, is mostly iPods. BMW and Volkswagen are already offering input jacks so that iPod toting individuals can enjoy their music on their cars. Some car brands like the Land Rover, on the other hand, are partnering with satellite radio providers to provide their consumers with the “best radio on radio”. For Ford, on the other hand, they are working with the software giant Microsoft and has developed a device which is expected to change the landscape of the car audio industry.

The car audio system is anchored on a portable audio device which allows a car stereo to be synched with the device. This will give car owners a better choice of music. Let us give the experts the floor and let them explain what this new car audio device is all about:

According to crunchgear.com this car audio device is: “A car stereo including a docking station into which an off-the-shelf handheld computer can be docked, and including an input/output (I/O) component allowing the car stereo to communicate with the handheld computer when the handheld computer is docked in the docking station, the car stereo indicating to the handheld computer, when the handheld computer is docked in the docking station, which one of a plurality of different appliance types the car stereo is.”

With that said, it is safe to say that this new advancement in car audio will allow Ford car and truck owners to complement their vehicles with aftermarket parts such as Accel parts and this new entertainment system. By the way, Ford calls this portable car audio system the “Sync” and will be available with future versions of the Ford Focus, Fusion, Five Hundred, Edge, Freestyle, Explorer and the Sport Trac; the Mercury Milan, Montego and the Mountaineer; and the Lincoln MKX and the MKZ. These vehicles will not only be equipped with the Sync but can also be modified with the use of aftermarket parts like the Weapon R cold air intake system.
